Photos Valley of Fire State Park

Searching for photos Valley of Fire State Park? On photoslasvegas.com you also can enjoy photos of alley of Fire State Park and other parks near Las Vegas. VOF, State Park, dedicated in 1935, is the oldest state park in Nevada.

The state park derives its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec Sandstone, which formed from shifting sand dunes 150 million years ago. Valley of Fire State Park contains ancient, petrified trees and petroglyphs dating back more than 2,000 years.

Distance Las Vegas to Valley of Fire State Park
=> via I-15 N en Valley of Fire Hwy = distance 48,9 miles, travel time 50M
=> via E Lake Mead Blvd en Northshore Rd = distance 62,1 miles, travel time 1H21M

This park is a little further away than Red Rock Canyon. Which is better Red Rock or Valley of Fire? Red Rock if you only have a few hours. If for a full day, the Valley of Fire. I found the Valley to be more spectacular, more impressive, more unusual. Both parks are beautiful but VOF is my favorite. Have you had enough of the hustle and bustle in Las Vegas? Visit this park or Red Rock. You can stop at the Valley of Fire State Park on your way to Zion National Park.

Points of Interest: Arch Rock, Atlatl Rock, Beehives, Petrified Logs, Elephant Rock, White Domes and more.
